What’s better that buying one Apple product? The answer to that is buying two Apple products. Consumers that live inside Apple’s ecosystem know how easily data flows between two Apple products and Etisalat is giving you the option to do exactly that.

Etisalat is offering its subscribers a bundle that offers the iPhone as well as the iPad on Smart pay 24-months contract with prices as low as AED 165 per month. That price gets you and iPhone 8 64GB + an iPad 9.7 (3rd Gen)

There are number of iPhone and iPad models to chose from which include the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus as well as the iPad 9.7-inch, the iPad Pro 10.5-inch and the iPad Pro 12.9-inch.

There definitely are some savings on the above offer. For example, an iPhone X 64GB with an iPad Pro 10.5 64GB (Wi-Fi + LTE) would cost you AED 7,453 from Apple but under this Etisalat program, you’re paying AED 7,008.

A full list of all the bundles and their pricing can be accessed on Etisalat’s website.

We’ve seen a host of top-notch handsets launch already this year, but there’s plenty more to come too, including Google’s Pixel 3 pair. A new rumor to hit the web suggests the tech giant is also busy working on a mid-range Pixel to launch sometime next year.

The tip comes courtesy of the often-reliable WinFuture writer Roland Quandt, who says the mystery device is going to be powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 710 chip and should be with us in the first half of 2019. That’s all we’ve got to go on but it sounds like a more affordable Pixel handset to us.

Up until now the Pixel phones have been distinctly high-end, vying with the likes of the iPhone X and the Galaxy S9 up in the premium part of the market. Adding a new phone to the 2019 line-up would give more budget-conscious gadget buyers an option too.

Talk is cheap

We’ve heard talk of a cheaper Pixel before – last month the Economic Times reported that Google was readying a less expensive device for emerging markets, possibly with the more lightweight and cut-down Android One software on board.

This sounds more like a genuine mid-range phone for a worldwide market, though with no confirmation from Google, we can’t be sure at the moment. We’d certainly like to see the AI-assisted photographic smarts of the Pixel line make their way down to cheaper phones, but for Google it might be a question of profit margins.

Until we hear more about this mid-ranger, all eyes are on what Google might unveil later in 2018: the next batch of Pixel phones are tipped to have dual front-facing cameras, with the larger one also sporting a notch up at the top of the display.

While you can already use Cortana to control your Xbox One with your voice, the death of the Kinect and Cortana’s limited skill set mean it isn’t the most practical option. But that could change for the better, with Windows Central revealing evidence of Alexa and Google Assistant integration with Microsoft’s gaming console.

With both digital assistants available, users won’t need to use the Kinect or a headset to issue voice commands, but make use of smart speakers they may already have.

Windows Central reports that upcoming Xbox One consoles will have a new “Digital Assistants” section from where users will be able to enable the AI they want, then install the skills for that particular platform.

It is as yet unclear exactly what commands will be available, but we can hope that media controls would be a no-brainer for Microsoft to adopt. So launching Netflix or turning down the volume while watching a movie won’t require wearing a headset.

Although there seems to be hard evidence suggesting the expansion of voice control for the Xbox One, plans can always change, so we’ll just have to wait for the official announcement – which could be at E3 or later this year – before we begin to rejoice.
