With the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 reportedly set to launch early on August 9, the leaks surrounding the upcoming business-minded flagship have kicked into overdrive. Now, OnLeaks and 91Mobiles  have teamed up to drop some very convincing renders (including a 360-degree video) of the device.

Applying the maxim of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, the supposed Galaxy Note 9 renders show a very similar handset to its 2017 predecessor — albeit with some minor design improvements.

As expected, the Galaxy Note 9 has seemingly followed the Galaxy S9‘s example by moving its rear-mounted fingerprint scanner to below the camera sensor, making it easier to find while also avoiding unwanted smudges on the lens.

If the renders prove accurate, the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor would lend credence to the rumors that it may not get an in-screen fingerprint sensor — even if the tech is ready.

The camera area itself also appears smaller and more subtle than it did on last year’s model, leading us to believe it may feature a similar array to this year’s Galaxy S9 Plus.

Thankfully, it appears that Samsung has remained steadfast in its fight against the ‘notchification’ of smartphones, with the renders showing similarly classy (and maybe even slightly slimmer) top and bottom bezels to last year’s Galaxy Note 8 — and it appears the 3.5mm headphone socket is sticking around, too.

We won’t know for sure if these renders are accurate until the device is officially revealed, however, it’s worth noting (heh) that OnLeaks has been on the money in the past

In the meantime, you can check out the Galaxy Note 9’s supposed design from every angle in the video below.

Google’s Android P beta just got more expressive in 157 ways thanks to the launch of Developer Preview 2 today.

It includes 157 new (and modified) emoji, as well as including final APIs, latest system images and updated tools for developers.

Google’s update is meant to encourage developers to make use of features like Adaptive Battery, and App Actions and App Slices shortcuts.

He Android P beta 1 is just four months old and works with the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, OnePlus 6, and five other smartphones (with more planned to launch P betas).

With beta 2 already out, Google is on schedule with its “later this summer” release date (in the past that has meant August).

Here are the important new emoji

Sure, better battery life and app shortcuts are major Android P features. However, emoji seems to be just as popular these days.

Google’s 157 new emoji include:

  • Red hair (both genders, 5 skin tones)
  • Superhero (both genders, 5 skin tones)
  • Face with three hearts
  • Bagel with cream cheese
  • Mooncake
  • Lobster
  • Llama

It’s is also adding two gender-neutral versions of existing emoji:

  • Family
  • Couple with a Heart

Google updated several existing emoji characters, adding funny notes as to why:

  • Bacon (it now looks more cooked)
  • Salad (removed the egg to make it vegan)
  • Turtle (revised the texture of its shell)
  • Cricket (no longer looks exclusively like a grasshopper)

Google Android P beta 2 seems to be a small, but healthy update that properly cooks bacon, discards the egg from salad, and continues to add diversity to existing emoji.

You can update to Android P beta 2 today over-the-air if you already have Android P beta 1 installed. If you device qualifies, you can enroll in the beta and skip straight to Developer Preview 2.

Canon has taken the wraps off two new 70-200mm telephoto zoom lenses, the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM, which replaces Canon’s flagship 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, and a more enthusiast-focused f/4L optic.

As you’d expect for a lens designed for pros, the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM is resistant to both moisture and dust, and features fluorine-coated front and rear elements that allow for easy cleaning when on location.

The lens sports an eight-bladed circular aperture diaphragm which Canon says will deliver silky smooth out-of-focus backgrounds, while there’s a 3.5-stop Image Stabilizer to compensate for camera shake.

EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM

The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM weighs in at 780g, and features a Fluorine Coating to make it harder for dirt and water drops to adhere to the lens, as well as Super Spectra coatings to eliminate ghosting and flare.

The fluorite lens elements are also capable of correcting color aberrations, and will deliver high-resolution and high-contrast images, according to Canon, while the nine-blade circular aperture design should produce a pleasing bokeh effect.

The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM also features a new Image Stabilizer unit that’s based on the design of Canon’s EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM. This should deliver the equivalent effect of a shutter five stops faster, compared to the previous lens’ three stops .

The lens’ silent-operation autofocus can be tweaked manually and enables a close focusing distance of 1m, compared to the 1.2m on its predecessor.

Both lenses will be available this summer, with the The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM priced at £1,299.99 and the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM at £2,149.99. US and Australian pricing is yet to be confirmed.
