Productive collaboration between designers and developers is the foundation of efficiently creating user-friendly websites & applications. However our workflows can be very different, and working from all over the world adds another challenge. In this talk I’ll give an overview of the Fedora Design Team. I will describe our tools and processes and then we’ll focus on how to create tasks for designers. I will outline what information to provide to guide, inspire, and help you successfully collaborate with the designers. With audience participation we will discuss how designers and developers can work together better. PUBLICATION PERMISSIONS:

My teammates and I are in charge of development, testing, docs, CI ops, and supporting our users. All these responsibilities are taken care of by just three people. I will talk about efficiency in spending developers' time, and share a few specific bits from principles and techniques that we apply in the team, which I consider helpful for handling our responsibilities while keeping our sanity. I'm hoping our experience should be applicable to other teams as well, especially small ones, or at least spark some thoughts so that you can come up with best practices that fit your team in particular.
